Michael supported the planning of two (2) offshore wind farm projects, with capacity of over 2GW. Michael defined EPC scope for both offshore wind farms and developed schedules to detail:
- Development of offshore wind farms including permitting, securing land, interconnection and transmission studies
- Wind farm design including land topography and geology, grid structure and distance and turbine size
- Financing
- Procurement
- Construction
- Commissioning, and
- Turnover to operations for each offshore wind farm
Michael reviewed suppliers and contractors’ schedules against key program milestone dates. Michael performed “what if” analysis in response to:
- Supply chain shortages
- Lack of domestic infrastructure
- Limited domestic manufacturing in key markets
- Evolving manufacturing lead times
- Availability of vessels, and
- Time of year restrictions
Michael developed monthly progress updates and management reports identifying potential delays to critical and sub-critical paths. He evaluated work packages, analyzed schedule variances and developed recovery plans to support power delivery milestones established in the PPA (Power Purchase Agreement).
